Beltangady, Sep 1: Sub-inspector Vinod Reddy, who had been serving with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Beltangady for the past one year in connection with the Burude case, has been suspended in a corruption case on August 31.
Reddy had earlier served as a Sub-Inspector at the Haliyal police station in Uttara Kannada district and was later transferred to the Mundgod police station.

Following the viral circulation of an audio recording in which discussions allegedly took place regarding dealings related to transfers and monthly collections, Uttara Kannada district superintendent of police Deepan M N conducted a preliminary inquiry on August 31 and suspended three police personnel — PSI Kiran Patil, PSI Krishna Arikere and PSI Vinod Reddy.
Although Vinod Reddy had been transferred from Haliyal police station to Mundgod police station, he had continued to serve with the SIT in Beltangady since the day the state government constituted the Special Investigation Team.
