Lokayukta officials made a surprise visit to the Karkala Town Municipal Council (TMC) on Monday, August 24 to inspect the status of public applications and the disposal of pending files.

An eight-member team led by Mangaluru Lokayukta inspector Chandrashekar conducted the inspection at the municipal office.

The officials scrutinised various documents and records related to pending files, trade licenses, khata amendments, khata transfers, and the processing of birth and death certificate applications. They also gathered detailed information from the TMC staff regarding the procedures and any delays in clearing these applications.

Based on the findings of the surprise inspection, the Lokayukta team is likely to prepare and submit a comprehensive report.
