New Delhi, Aug 23: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued more than 150 notices to food companies, including major brands such as Nestle India, PepsiCo and Coca-Cola India, over misleading advertisements, false claims and non-compliance with labelling regulations.
In a social media post on Saturday, the food regulator shared details of its recent enforcement actions against major food businesses, according to news agency PTI.
"Over 150 notices issued for misleading advertisements, false claims & labelling non-compliances," the FSSAI said.

The regulator listed several major companies against which enforcement action has been taken in recent months. These include Nestle India, PepsiCo, Abbott India, Red Bull India, Danone India, Monster Energy India, Hell Energy, Mondelez India, Coca-Cola India, Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Ferrero India and Kenvue Inc.
The FSSAI said it has taken action against various food business operators over violations of food safety laws and regulations, including measures targeting manufacturers of energy drinks and alcoholic beverages.
Products seized, licences cancelled
As part of its recent enforcement drive, the regulator said products had been seized from several companies over violations.
The FSSAI also issued 12 notices to e-commerce companies Amazon and Flipkart.
"One Amazon warehouse license has also been cancelled," the regulator said.
The regulator has separately intensified scrutiny of food service establishments. More than 30 notices have been issued to outlets and operators including KFC, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Domino's and Costa Coffee.
The FSSAI also said it had suspended five Domino's licences.
The regulator had issued notices to several five-star hotels last year as part of its enforcement activities.
Earlier this week, the FSSAI said a number of companies had begun taking corrective measures following the notices issued against them.
