Udupi, Aug 19: The draft electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 will be published on August 24, said Udupi deputy commissioner Swaroopa T K.
She was speaking at a meeting with representatives of registered and recognised political parties held at the DC’s office in Rajathadri, Manipal, on Tuesday, August 19, to discuss the publication of the draft electoral roll and the activities to be undertaken thereafter.
As per the revised SIR-2026 schedule, the process of collecting enumeration forms through door-to-door visits was completed on August 17. The draft electoral roll will be published at 11 am on August 24. A printed copy and a soft copy of the draft roll will be provided to recognised political parties following its publication, the DC said.

The first phase of the special intensive revision of the electoral roll has been completed in the district. Of the total 10,63,876 voters in Udupi district, enumeration forms of 10,00,545 voters have been digitised.
However, 63,331 voters will be excluded from the draft electoral roll for various reasons. These include 21,262 deceased voters, 29,361 voters who have permanently migrated, 4,145 absent voters, 8,374 voters who have duplicate cards and 189 voters under other categories.
Across the district’s five Assembly constituencies, 97,697 voters, accounting for 9.18% of the total electorate, will be subject to the adjudication process. Notices will be issued by the ERO/AERO at least seven days before the scheduled hearing.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will deliver the notices door-to-door, obtain acknowledgements and upload the acknowledgement along with the recipient’s photograph on the ECINET/BLO app. Following hearings at designated locations and verification of the relevant documents, the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) will take appropriate decisions, Swaroopa said.
Additional deputy commissioner Abid Gadyal and representatives of various political parties, including BJP’s Chandrashekar Prabhu, JD(S)’s Jayaram Acharya and Congress’s B Vijay, were present at the meeting.
