Sharjah, Jul 16: Mleiha National Park in Sharjah has been shortlisted for the "Middle East's Leading National Park 2026" award at the 33rd World Travel Awards, marking a significant recognition of the emirate's growing prominence in heritage and ecotourism.
Located within the Al Faya Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park is competing against four leading protected areas from across the Middle East.
The nomination recognises Mleiha National Park's efforts to preserve the UAE's rich archaeological heritage while promoting sustainable tourism through educational programmes, adventure activities and nature-based experiences.

The World Travel Awards, regarded among the travel industry's most prestigious honours, recognise excellence in destination management and tourism across the globe.
Mleiha National Park is the only nominee from the UAE in the category, highlighting the country's natural and cultural heritage on the regional stage.
Voting for the award will remain open until July 31, 2026.
