Bantwal: 34-year-old Puttur bike rider killed in car collision near Bolangadi

Bantwal, July 5: A high-speed road accident on National Highway 75 near Bolangadi Narahari Parvatha, close to the Panemangalore–Melkar stretch, claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Sunday evening after a collision between a car and a bike.

The deceased has been identified as Ashok (34), a resident of Puttur.

According to reports, the accident took place when a Maruti car heading towards BC Road was struck by a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, allegedly after the rider violated one-way traffic rules.

The impact of the collision was severe, leaving both the two-wheeler and the car extensively damaged.

Witnesses said the crash occurred in a sudden and violent impact, leaving the biker critically injured on the road.

Locals rushed the injured Ashok to a nearby hospital immediately after the accident. However, he succumbed to his injuries despite medical intervention.

Bantwal traffic police visited the spot, carried out an inspection, and initiated a preliminary investigation into the circumstances leading to the fatal accident.
