Mangaluru, Jun 20: Drinking water supplied to residents within the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) limits is provided to households only after being treated at water purification plants. The quality of drinking water is periodically tested in all wards to ensure its safety and purity, MCC commissioner said in a release.

The MCC had received complaints regarding the supply of contaminated water to some houses in the Bhattagudda 5th Cross Road area of Ward No. 31. Following the complaints, officials of the Mangaluru City Corporation inspected the area and identified a leak in the water supply pipeline. The leakage has since been repaired.

The commissioner stated that treated water from the MCC is being supplied to all wards. Members of the public facing any issues related to water supply may contact the MCC helpline at 0824-2220303, the release added.
