Uppinangady youth dies months after accident injuries

Puttur, Jun 15: A youth who had been in a coma following a road accident involving a car and a motorcycle succumbed to his injuries at his rented residence in Nekkilady on June 14.

The deceased has been identified as Badruddin Math, a native of Math village who was residing in a rented house at Nekkilady. He was employed at a hotel in Kootel.

According to reports, the accident occurred on the night of December 11, 2025, when Badruddin was travelling on his motorcycle from Uppinangady to Nekkilady. A car coming from the opposite direction towards Uppinangady allegedly collided head-on with his bike, leaving him critically injured.

He was initially treated at a hospital in Puttur before being shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment. However, he had reportedly slipped into a coma by then.

After undergoing prolonged treatment, Badruddin was brought back home, where family members had been caring for him. He breathed his last at his residence on Saturday afternoon.

The funeral rites were conducted at the Badri Jumma Masjid in Math village.
