Yeyyadi hit-and-run case: Car driver sentenced to one month in jail

Mangaluru, Jun 6: The 8th JMFC Court in Mangaluru has sentenced a car driver to one month's imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 in connection with a hit-and-run case in which a scooter rider died after being knocked down at Yeyyadi Junction.

The convicted driver has been identified as Satish, a resident of Siddarth Nagar in Bajpe.

According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on Apr 25, 2023, at Yeyyadi Junction when the accused allegedly hit a scooter, resulting in the death of the rider, and fled the scene without rendering assistance.

After hearing the case and examining the evidence, the court found the accused guilty and awarded the sentence.

Advocate Aaron D'Souza Vittla appeared for the prosecution, conducted the examination of witnesses and argued the case on behalf of the government.
