India finish with 17 medals at Asian U-17 Boxing Championships

Tashkent, May 15: India concluded a historic campaign at the Asian Under-17 Boxing Championships with two gold medals, seven silver medals and eight bronze medals in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Indian boxers delivered an impressive performance across the tournament, taking the country’s total medal tally in the Under-17 category to 17.

The combined tally included medals won by both the boys’ and girls’ teams.

The championships were held in Tashkent, where Indian youngsters showcased strong performances against leading Asian boxing nations.

Earlier, at the Asian Under-15 Boxing Championships, India had secured a total of 27 medals, including nine gold, six silver and 12 bronze medals.

The overall performance across both age-group championships highlighted India’s growing strength in junior boxing at the continental level.
