Udupi, Oct 25: The two-day 10th Mega Canara Retail Expo, organised by Canara Bank circle office Manipal and Canara Bank regional office - 1 at the MGM College grounds in Udupi on October 24 and 25, concluded successfully on Sunday evening. A valedictory programme was held, during which participating dealers were presented with mementoes in appreciation of their support and cooperation.

Canara Bank has crossed the milestone of Rs 30 lakh crore in total business, further strengthening its position among the country's leading banks.

Addressing the gathering, Mahamaya Prasad Roy, Regional Manager of Canara Bank's Udupi-1 Regional Office, attributed the achievement to the dedicated efforts of the bank's employees and the trust of its customers.

"Without customers, our existence has no meaning. The strong relationship between customers and the bank is the key driving force behind our growth," he said.

He expressed pride in the bank's remarkable journey from its humble beginnings under founder Ammembal Subba Rao Pai, who established the institution with an initial capital of around Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500, to its present scale of over Rs 30 lakh crore in business. He added that Canara Bank continues to work towards its goal of becoming the number one bank in the country.

Launched in 2016, the Mega Retail Expo has entered its 10th year. Organised at the beginning of the festive season every year, the expo serves as a platform to strengthen connections between customers, retailers, builders and the bank.

During the two-day event, the bank received numerous customer enquiries, loan applications and leads related to property purchases. Bookings were also made for several properties. In-principle approvals were granted for multiple loan applications, and official loan sanction letters will be issued after the completion of the necessary procedures, Roy said.

He appreciated the collective efforts of Canara Bank employees, popularly known as Canarites, as well as the cooperation extended by dealers, builders and their representatives in making the expo a success.

Roy also extended advance Deepavali greetings to customers and assured them that the bank would continue to serve them with the same commitment and dedication.

Niranjan and Archana compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
