Mangaluru: One more nabbed in Arif murder case; total arrests rise to 11

Mangaluru, Apr 23: Police have arrested another key accused in connection with the recent murder of rowdy-sheeter Arif Hussain on the Thokkottu flyover.

The arrested individual has been identified as Muhammad Suhail alias Chiya (24). With this latest arrest, the total number of people detained in relation to this case has risen to 11.

According to police sources, Suhail is accused of providing assistance during the initial attack on Arif. Following a detailed investigation, the police produced Suhail before the court, which subsequently remanded him to judicial custody.

Earlier investigations into the murder had led to the arrest of 10 individuals. The police have identified the involvement of a total of 15 people in the conspiracy and execution of the crime.

Arif was murdered in the early hours of March 27 on the Thokkottu flyover. While he was traveling on a motorcycle, the assailants intercepted him with a car and hacked him to death using lethal weapons. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the case.
