Bengaluru, Apr 9: The results for the 2nd PUC annual examinations for the academic year 2025-26 were announced on Thursday, recording a historic surge in the overall pass percentage.
Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Madhu Bangarappa, officially released the results during a press conference held at the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) office in Malleshwaram.
The state recorded an impressive overall pass percentage of 86%, marking a significant 12% increase compared to the previous year's 73.45%. Out of the 7,10,363 students who appeared for the examinations, 6.10 lac students have emerged successful. The minister expressed his delight, describing the results as a "historic milestone" for the state's education department.
In the commerce stream, Disha, a student of Alva’s College at Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district, has secured a perfect score of 600 out of 600, emerging as the state topper securing the first rank.
In Science stream Samanyu S Shetty and Nandan Nayak of Expert College have topped the state with 99.67%. Other toppers from Expert college include Deeksha Shenoy, Aditi I Reddy, Amogh B Loka, and Sushan Narayana Billava, who scored 99.33%, also in Science stream.

Chaithrika Chaudhary of Jnanasudha PU College, Karkala, secured 597 marks in the science stream, while Vaishnavi Kulkarni and Anarvi from the same institution also scored 597, emerging among the top achievers.
Prerana Ramachandra Hegde of Creative College, Karkala, excelled in the commerce stream by securing 598 marks, achieving an impressive 99.67%.
Prajwal Shetty and Shrima Devadiga from the Commerce stream in Christ King Pre-University College, Karkala have both scored 596 marks securing the 4th rank in the state.
Girls outshine boys yet again
Continuing the established trend, female students outperformed their male counterparts. While the pass percentage among girls stood at 88.70%, the boys recorded a pass percentage of 83.65%.
Udupi and Dakshina Kannada top the state
In terms of district-wise performance, the coastal districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada shared the top spot, maintaining their reputation for academic excellence with the highest passing rates. Bengaluru Urban and Mysuru districts also showcased strong performances. Meanwhile, Yadgir district recorded the lowest pass percentage in the state.
In the Commerce stream, nine students from a single institution—ASC College in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru—achieved an extraordinary feat by scoring more than 590 marks each.
Digital marks cards via DigiLocker
For the first time, the board has made marks cards available through DigiLocker. This initiative ensures that students can access and download their official documents even if the primary result website faces server congestion.
