Panaji, Apr 1: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday completed his self-enumeration for the first phase of Census 2027 through the online portal, which went live earlier in the day.

Sawant appealed to citizens to participate in the process before the April 15 deadline, ahead of the ground survey for house listing scheduled to begin from April 16.

In an official statement, the Chief Minister described the census as the backbone of planning, governance, and inclusive development for both Goa and the nation.

“The census is not just a statistical exercise; it is the foundation for effective planning, inclusive governance, and ensuring that every citizen’s needs are recognised and addressed. From infrastructure and healthcare to education and welfare schemes, accurate data helps us make informed decisions for a stronger and more progressive Goa and the nation,” he said.

He further urged people to actively take part in the exercise and utilise the self-enumeration facility, stressing that public participation is key to shaping policies that reflect the aspirations of citizens.
