Udupi, Mar 31: A young man travelling without a ticket was rescued from a near-tragic incident due to the timely intervention of a ticket examiner.

The incident occurred when a train travelling from Kerala to Mumbai was nearing Innanje railway station. The youth, who was reportedly travelling without a valid ticket, attempted to jump out of the moving train through the door. Acting swiftly, ticket examiner Babu managed to prevent him from taking the dangerous step and rescued him in time.

Ticket checker Sunil, RPF personnel Raviprakash, and Jeena Pinto also assisted in the rescue operation.

Following the incident, the youth was handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) office in Indrali. Authorities later suspected that he was mentally unstable. With the assistance of social worker Nityananda Volakadu, the railway police arranged for his admission to the district hospital in Ajjarkad for medical care.

During the medical process, the youth identified himself only as Sahad (25), a native of Kozhikode. Authorities have urged his family members to contact the Udupi District Hospital for further information.
