Beltangady: 14-year-old boy drowns while swimming in Antraaya pond

Beltangady, Mar 28: A 14-year-old boy tragically drowned on Saturday evening while swimming at Antraayapalke in Nada village of Beltangady taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Hafeez, son of Hasanabba, a resident of Kuntini, Ujire village.

Hafeez was among four children who had gone to swim in the Antraaya pond when the incident occurred. According to witnesses, the boy drowned in the water and could not be rescued despite efforts by those present.

The mortal remains of the young boy were taken to Beltangady taluk government hospital, and an investigation is under way to ascertain the exact circumstances.
