London, Mar 5: Bukayo Saka’s early strike proved decisive as Arsenal F.C. secured a crucial 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. at the Amex Stadium, capitalising on Manchester City F.C.’s shock 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest F.C. to move seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Mikel Arteta’s men were not at their fluent best, but Saka’s ninth-minute effort was enough to seal a massive three points on what could prove to be a defining night in the title race.

After surviving an early scare — when Gabriel Magalhaes had to head the ball off his own line following a poor clearance from David Raya — Arsenal struck first. Making his 300th appearance for his boyhood club, stand-in skipper Saka cut in from the right after receiving a pass from Jurrien Timber and unleashed a shot that deflected off Carlos Baleba and wrong-footed Bart Verbruggen in the Brighton goal.
The visitors struggled to build on their advantage, with Brighton causing problems throughout the first half. However, Arsenal held firm, grinding out a hard-fought victory while City dropped points in Manchester.
Gabriel Magalhaes was immense at the heart of defence, setting the tone early with his goal-line clearance and throwing himself into crucial challenges throughout the contest.
