Afghanistan strike early after opting to field against UAE

New Delhi, Feb 16: Rashid Khan won the toss and elected to field as Afghanistan took on the United Arab Emirates in Delhi, with a Super Eight berth at stake.

Afghanistan made an ideal start, picking up two early wickets to reduce UAE to 13/2. However, Alishan Sharafu and Sohaib Khan steadied the innings with a crucial 84-run partnership to revive the UAE innings.

The breakthrough came when Mujeeb Ur Rahman dismissed Sharafu, whose attempted heave was caught by Ibrahim Zadran at long-off. Afghanistan then tightened their grip with three quick wickets, leaving UAE struggling at 114/5 after 15 overs.

Pacer Azmatullah Omarzai impressed with the ball, claiming 3/10 in his three overs to put UAE under pressure.
