Puttur, Feb 11: A porcupine that entered the heart of Puttur town at night created curiosity among residents after it was seen moving around the area instead of returning to the nearby hills.
The animal is said to have come down from the hillocks surrounding the town and entered Puttur on Monday night. It was spotted near the Rotary G L Building, where it remained for some time.

As people began gathering at the location, the porcupine moved towards the bushes behind the residence of advocate Purandara Bhat, president of Puttur Karnataka Sangha.
Based on information provided by local residents, forest department officials arrived at the scene and safely rescued the porcupine.
