Sanvi Sudeep hits back at body-shaming trolls as her song 'Masth Malaika' goes viral in 'Mark'

Bengaluru, Dec 28: The much-anticipated film Mark, starring Sandalwood star and ‘Abhinaya Chakravarthy’ Kichcha Sudeep, has hit screens, with a special highlight being his daughter Sanvi Sudeep lending her voice to the song Masth Malaika. The song has gone viral and drawn widespread attention, even as the film, released on December 25, held its success meet within two days.

While Masth Malaika has been receiving praise, Sanvi has also faced trolling and body-shaming on social media. Responding firmly, she addressed the issue in her own style through an Instagram story, stating, “My body is not a topic for discussion. If I feel the need, I will ask for your opinion,” accompanied by a smiling emoji.

Sanvi, who has now made her debut as a playback singer in Kannada cinema through Mark, spoke about the emotional significance of the song. “I always knew that one day I would sing for my father’s film. That dream has come true through Mark. Still, it may take me a few more days to fully believe this is real. My songs in English have already been released, but this is my first Kannada song, and that too for my father. That makes it very special,” she said.

Earlier, Sanvi had drawn attention by singing an English song at the title launch of Gimme, directed by Kichcha Sudeep’s nephew Sanchit Sanjeev. She had also entered the Telugu film industry by lending her voice to Poratame 3.0 in actor Nani’s HIT 3. With Mark, she has now formally entered the Kannada film industry through her father’s film.

Describing the technical challenges, Sanvi said, “Masth Malaika is a high-pitched song. Initially, I felt it might be beyond my capacity. I had sung it at live performances, but singing in front of the microphone is not easy and demands a lot of musical precision. Music director Ajaneesh Loknath has known me for many years and explained everything patiently. Earlier, pronouncing some Kannada words was difficult, but he helped resolve that.” She added that seeing people appreciate and share the song on social media has been deeply encouraging.

At the Mark success meet, Kichcha Sudeep was asked about negative comments directed at both his films and his daughter. Responding with confidence, he said Sanvi was capable of handling criticism on her own. “My daughter is intelligent. She will grow ten times more than me. Comments will come, that’s all. She doesn’t get disturbed by them. She knows how to handle such situations,” he said.

Sanvi, who has a strong interest in music, has become a major talking point for singing an item song in her father’s film. Active on social media, she regularly shares updates related to her work, along with glimpses from family functions and personal milestones, even as Masth Malaika continues to gain traction online.
