Tirupati, Dec 26: TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday urged parents and teachers to educate children about India’s great epics, heroes and traditional values instead of relying solely on modern Western superheroes.
Speaking at the Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan held at the National Sanskrit University in Tirupati, Naidu said the Ramayana and Mahabharata offer profound lessons on truth, courage and justice that go far beyond what is portrayed in movies or comic books.

He pointed out that characters such as Spider-Man, Batman and Superman are imaginary, while heroes from Indian mythology reflect enduring values and ideals. “Lord Hanuman’s strength was greater than Superman’s, and Arjuna was a warrior far superior to Iron Man or Batman,” Naidu said, adding, “No one in the world can be greater than Lord Rama, who stood for righteousness and peace in society.”
The chief minister also called on parents to use mythological stories to explain the difference between good and evil, citing characters such as Bakasura and Kansa as examples that help children understand moral values.
Naidu praised legendary actor and TDP founder N T Rama Rao, noting that he used cinema effectively to bring mythological stories to life and spread cultural values among the masses.
He also recalled the contribution of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in laying the foundation for India’s growth and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking that progress forward. During his address, Naidu also encouraged parents to have at least three children.
The event was attended by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Union Minister Jitendra Singh, among others.
