Madrid, Oct 27: The season’s first El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu was packed with action, emotion, and controversy as Real Madrid edged past arch-rivals Barcelona 2-1. However, the real drama unfolded after the final whistle when players from both sides clashed in a heated brawl involving Vinicius Junior and Barcelona’s young winger Lamine Yamal.
The scuffle began when Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal confronted 18-year-old Yamal near the touchline. The exchange quickly drew in goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, prompting Barcelona players to rush in to shield the youngster. Within moments, chaos erupted as players from both sides got involved.

As Yamal made his way toward the tunnel, Vinicius Junior approached him and reportedly said, “Speak now.” The two continued exchanging heated words, with Vinicius taunting, “Only back passes, only back passes,” to which Yamal responded, “Come inside, let’s talk.” The confrontation escalated further before stewards and teammates intervened to separate them.
Sources suggest Real Madrid players were angered by Yamal’s pre-match remark accusing Los Blancos of “cheating.” The comment did not sit well with Madrid fans either, as Yamal was booed throughout the match and struggled to make an impact on the pitch.
After the match, Barcelona’s assistant manager Marcus Sorg, who stood in for the suspended Hansi Flick, admitted that the intense atmosphere at the Bernabeu affected Yamal’s composure. “It was a hostile environment, and he’s still learning. Moments like these help him grow,” Sorg said.
With Real Madrid’s victory, the club extended its lead at the top of the league table, while the fiery post-match scenes ensured that this El Clasico will be remembered for more than just the scoreline.
