Santiago, Oct 20: Morocco made history on Sunday night, defeating Argentina 2-0 in the Under-20 World Cup final in Chile to claim their first-ever World Cup title at any age-group level.
Yassir Zabiri, the FC Famalicao forward in Portugal's top flight, scored both goals in the first half, giving Morocco a decisive lead that proved enough to secure the trophy.

The African side had an impressive run to the final, defeating South Korea, the United States, and France in the knockout stages before overcoming Argentina. Morocco also became the first African nation to lift the U-20 title since Ghana in 2009.
Argentina, aiming for their seventh U-20 crown, suffered their first defeat of the tournament in the final. The team had reached the final despite missing two of their key players, Claudio Echeverri of Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid’s Franco Mastantuono.
Morocco’s victory comes as a historic milestone for African football, while Argentina’s senior team, the defending World Cup champions, are already qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
