Mumbai, Sep 20: Young India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has already impressed with 723 runs in 23 T20Is, remains upbeat despite missing out on the ongoing Asia Cup squad. The 23-year-old southpaw, who debuted for India in 2023, said selection decisions are beyond his control.
“I don’t think about it. It’s all in the hands of the selectors. Decisions are taken according to the team combination. I will do whatever I can,” Jaiswal told Mashable India. “When my time comes, things will fall into place. I just want to keep working on myself and keep working hard.”
Known for his inspiring rise from poverty to international cricket, Jaiswal said he always believed he would achieve something big. He also shared his ultimate dream: winning the ODI World Cup for India.
Jaiswal was part of the T20 World Cup 2024-winning squad but did not feature in any match. “I will never stop. I will just keep working hard,” he affirmed, showing determination to seize future opportunities.
