Canberra, Jul 30: Australia has announced a 14-member squad each for the upcoming white-ball series against South Africa, with key names Travis Head and Josh Hazlewood making their return. The series will include three T20Is and three ODIs starting August 10.
All-rounder Matt Short also makes his comeback, while explosive batter Mitchell Owen has earned a spot in both squads following standout performances against the West Indies. Owen could potentially make his ODI debut during the series.

With regular ODI captain Pat Cummins still recovering and Mitchell Starc being rested, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh will continue to lead the side in both formats.
Several players including Sean Abbott, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Tanveer Sangha, Cooper Connolly, and Aaron Hardie, who featured in the recent West Indies series, have missed out on this tour.
Chief selector George Bailey emphasized the team's vision to build toward the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
“The flexibility and depth shown in the West Indies series were huge positives. While some players miss out for this series, they remain firmly in the mix,” Bailey said.
