Mangaluru, July 16: Gangaavathi MLA Gali Janardhana Reddy has made a startling prediction that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will resign by November, and asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will make a strong comeback in Karnataka.
Speaking at Kunjadi in Sullia, Reddy claimed a power-sharing agreement was made between Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, with a leadership transition already underway.

“I have information that Siddaramaiah will step down and hand over the Chief Minister’s post to D.K. Shivakumar. If not voluntarily, he will be forced to vacate the seat. Shivakumar is in a hurry to take over power—there is no doubt about this,” Reddy said.
He also recalled that former chief minister Devaraj Urs held the longest tenure and said Siddaramaiah plans to stay just one day longer before resigning. Reddy further stated that the BJP would unite to regain power in the state. “We will all work together as per the party’s decision to bring the BJP back to power. The party’s central leadership handles all organisational and factional matters,” he said.
Reddy visits Kadaba Areltadi Temple after jail release
Following his political address, Janardhana Reddy visited the Areltaditemple complex in Savanoor village, Kadaba taluk, Dakshina Kannada district. The temple is dedicated to revered local deities including Iruver Ullakulu and Kedenjodittayi.
Reddy had missed the temple’s Brahmakalashotsava ceremony on May 13 due to his incarceration related to the Obulapuram illegal mining case.
During the festival, his supporters had prayed to the temple deity for his release, and according to local belief, the deity assured his freedom within a month. Reddy was indeed released from jail within that period.
In gratitude, he performed the traditional ‘tambula seva’ during his visit today, which coincided with the auspicious Sankramana day. The visit was marked by his reverence towards the deity who, according to local faith, played a key role in his release.
BJP leaders including former state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, Sullia MLA Bhagirathi Murulya, and MLC Kishore Kumar from Puttur accompanied him during the visit.
