Beltangady, July 13: In a tragic incident, a married woman working as a teacher allegedly died by suicide at her mother's residence in Koyyur village, Beltangady taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Ramya (32), daughter of Devappa Bangera of Darkhas in Koyyur. She reportedly ended her life by hanging herself in one of the rooms of the house on July 13 afternoon.

Ramya was married two years ago to Lathish, a resident of Padadka in Koyyur. She was employed as a teacher in a school in Beltangady.
Sources indicate that Ramya had been suffering from health issues and had come to her maternal home. It is suspected that she may have taken the extreme step due to distress over her health condition.
Officials from the revenue department, including revenue inspector Pratheesh, and personnel from the Beltangady police station visited the spot.
A case has been registered at the Beltangady police station, and further investigation is underway.
