Vijoy Ashwin Cardoza elected ICYM Mangalore diocesan president for 2025-26

Mangaluru, Jul 7: Vijoy Ashwin Cardoza from Moodbidri has been elected as the president of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Mangalore diocese, for the term 2025–26.

The election process for the new diocesan committee was held on Sunday under the supervision of Fr Vijay Victor Lobo, diocesan chief election commissioner and parish priest of Kulur parish.

The general body meeting began with a welcome address by outgoing president Winston Joel Sequeira. Ashlin Avita D’Souza, diocesan general secretary, presented the previous meeting’s report, while treasurer Reena Anjali Crasta tabled the financial statement for 2024–25.

The newly elected ICYM diocesan office bearers are:

• President: Vijoy Ashwin Cardoza (Moodbidri)
• General secretary: Maria D’Silva (Surathkal)
• Vice president: Melroy Prem D’Souza (Allipade)
• Lady vice president: Ashinta Monteiro
• Joint secretary: Floyd Vincent Pinto (Neerude)
• Treasurer: Supreeth Fernandes (Arva)
• Social cause secretary: Muriel Mascarenhas

Other committee members include:

• Regional vice president: Jaison D’Souza (Fajir)
• Regional representative (Female): Clarin Ashwitha D’Souza
• MIJARC Asia coordinator: Viola Reshma Lewis
• Immediate past president: Winston Joel Sequeira (Hospet)

Nominations for the positions of public relations officer, Amcho Yuvak representative, Red Drop representative, and other nominated members will be announced in due course.
