Washington, Jun 25: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday claimed that American airstrikes caused "total obliteration" at three key Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—declaring the strikes had set Tehran’s atomic programme back by "decades." Speaking at the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump said Iran “won’t be building bombs for a long time.”
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth described the damage as “moderate to severe”, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio insisted Iran’s nuclear programme is now “far behind” where it was, and warned, “If they rebuild, we’ll be ready.”

High-resolution satellite images support these claims, showing craters, collapsed tunnels, and structural damage at the Fordow site. The Isfahan facility, targeted by both US and Israeli forces, also shows extensive destruction, including collapsed tunnel entrances and damaged labs and conversion units. At Natanz, power infrastructure like substations and backup generators were destroyed.
Despite the destruction, the UN atomic watchdog IAEA confirmed no radiation leaks have been detected at any of the sites. However, Iran’s parliament has voted to suspend cooperation with the IAEA, accusing it of failing to condemn the strikes.
“The IAEA put its credibility up for sale,” said Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. “Cooperation will remain suspended until nuclear facility security is guaranteed.”
IAEA teams are awaiting clearance to inspect the damaged sites.
