Fatorda, Jun 21: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed strong confidence on Friday that the BJP’s “Lotus” will bloom in Fatorda during the upcoming 2027 Goa Assembly elections, asserting that his government will resolve key issues affecting the public—most notably the regularisation of houses—before the polls.
Speaking at the Fatorda Karyakarta Melava, the Chief Minister said while a previous attempt to regularise homes fell through due to certain obstacles, the BJP government remains committed to resolving the matter ahead of 2027. “This time, we will ensure the issue is fully addressed,” he assured party workers.
Sawant also highlighted the government’s decision on house separation, a move he believes will significantly reduce intra-family disputes. He added that this initiative would soon be extended to municipal areas as well.

Confident about BJP’s prospects in the next election, Sawant reiterated the party’s target of winning 27 Assembly seats, declaring, “There should be no doubt about this. The Lotus will bloom across Goa, including Fatorda.”
Encouraging grassroots mobilisation, the Chief Minister urged party workers to begin election preparations in earnest and praised State BJP President Damu Naik for proactively kickstarting groundwork across the state.
In a move focused on youth employment, Sawant revealed that his government has begun engaging with the private sector to assess manpower needs. “We are committed to ensuring job opportunities for local youth. By interacting with industries directly, we’re identifying sector-wise requirements to match skills with demand,” he said.
On a communal harmony note, Sawant referred to former CM Digambar Kamat’s praise for the state’s successful hosting of the Exposition of St Francis Xavier, stating that even the clergy had lauded the BJP government’s efforts. “Our administration does not discriminate. We work for all communities—Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” he said.
Additionally, Sawant unveiled plans to develop the KTC bus stand in Margao, emphasizing that no individual or group should attempt to take credit when the project materialises. “As Chief Minister, it is my responsibility to drive development for all of Goa,” he concluded.
