Disqualification order against MLA Janardhan Reddy withdrawn after court stay

Bengaluru, June 20: The Karnataka Legislative Assembly has withdrawn the disqualification order issued against BJP MLA G Janardhan Reddy.

He was earlier disqualified following his conviction by a CBI special court in an illegal mining case.

The disqualification was revoked after the Telangana High Court stayed the lower court’s verdict.

Sources in the Assembly said that if a higher court stays or overturns a conviction, the disqualification order can be legally withdrawn.
