Florida, Jun 14: In yet another bizarre incident from the United States, a 70-year-old man from Florida has been arrested after he urinated on nearly Rs 9 lac ($10,500) worth of Spam and Vienna sausages at a Sam’s Club outlet in Lady Lake, near Orlando.

The man, identified as Patrick Francis Mitchell, was seen relieving himself in aisle 18 by a store witness, who immediately alerted employees. After the act, Mitchell reportedly walked over to the snack section, relaxed on patio furniture for 10 minutes, and later proceeded to check out and pay for his items.

Police said Mitchell was traced using his Sam’s Club membership ID, which was matched with surveillance footage and his Florida driver’s license.

“Behavior consistent with urination,” noted Marion County Detective Ronnie Williams in his report.

The contamination forced the store to discard 188 bulk packs of Vienna sausages and 345 units of Spam Classic. The financial loss prompted social media outrage, with users demanding strict action against Mitchell.

He has pleaded not guilty to a felony criminal mischief charge and is currently out on a Rs 2.5 lac ($3,000) bond. His case is being handled by defence attorney Bobby Rumalla in Lake County Court.
