London, Jun 4: Lee Carsley has extended his contract as England Under-21 head coach, with the Football Association confirming his stay through to the end of the 2027 UEFA European Championship.
Carsley, who led the Young Lions to the U21 EURO title in 2023, is currently preparing the squad for the 2025 edition of the tournament in Slovakia. England have been drawn in Group C alongside Czechia, Slovenia, and Germany, with matches scheduled for June 12, 15, and 18.

Calling the renewal an ‘easy decision,’ Carsley said, “I’ve really enjoyed my time at the FA and feel privileged in my role. It’s exciting to work with the next generation of England players.”
Carsley and his team are currently training at St. George’s Park, with the final squad announcement expected on Friday. “Preparations have gone well. The focus now is on heading to Slovakia and hopefully retaining the title,” he added.
The 2027 U21 EURO is set to take place in Albania, with qualification beginning in the 2025-26 season.
