New Delhi, May 7: In a powerful and precisely coordinated military action, the Indian Army carried out ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting nine high-value terror camps across the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The strike comes in the wake of the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, including one Nepali national.

Top government sources revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally oversaw the high-stakes operation through the night, maintaining constant communication with senior national security advisors and military commanders. His close monitoring underscored the strategic importance of the mission and the Centre’s firm resolve to bring perpetrators of terror to justice.

According to official statements, the Indian Army hit all nine designated terror infrastructure sites successfully. These targets were reportedly linked to terror outfits believed responsible for orchestrating the Pahalgam massacre.

In line with India’s commitment to responsible and restrained military conduct, the strikes were meticulously planned to avoid civilian casualties or damage to Pakistani military or economic installations. "Justice is served," said a senior Army spokesperson, confirming the success of the mission.

Describing the strikes as “focused, measured, and non-escalatory,” the Indian Army reiterated that the targets were limited strictly to terrorist infrastructure. The camps, believed to be launchpads for cross-border attacks, were neutralised using precision-guided tactics to prevent any collateral damage.

“Our operations were designed to ensure accountability without provoking further tensions. We hit only those locations from which terror has been directed towards India,” the Army spokesperson stated.

The execution of Operation Sindoor marks a significant moment in India’s counterterrorism posture — reaffirming that acts of terror on Indian soil will meet with decisive and proportionate responses.

The Centre, while maintaining its diplomatic channels, has made it clear that terror sanctuaries will not be tolerated. Prime Minister Modi’s proactive involvement in overseeing the mission is seen as a testament to the government’s unwavering stand on national security.

On April 22, a devastating terrorist strike rocked Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 25 Indian civilians and one Nepali citizen. The attack, which drew widespread condemnation across the country, prompted urgent deliberations at the highest levels of government — eventually culminating in Operation Sindoor.

The latest military action sends a firm signal across the border, establishing that while India values peace, it will not hesitate to act decisively when its people are attacked.
