Mangaluru: National level techno cultural fest ‘TIARA 2024’ inaugurated at SJEC

Mangaluru, May 9: TIARA 2024, the three-day techno cultural fest organized by St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru is inaugurated on May 9 at the college basketball ground. Vishwanath Ananthakrishnan, senior vice president and general manager, Mirafra Technologies graced the occasion as chief guest along with Abhishek Shukla, HR directorate during the inaugural.

The fest got off to a grand inaugural on the first day as a cheerful flash mob entertained the crowd gathered at the venue and rendered a mesmerizing welcome to the gathering. The unveiling of the TIARA logo, the techno cultural fest organized by the college, followed this.

Vishwanath Ananthakrishnan in his address complimented the students for coming up with such innovative ways of inaugurating the event. He appreciated the creativity involved around the event. He congratulated the students for their competitive instincts, ideas and innovation and asked them to hold on to this spirit when they step into their career. He suggested that the industry will look for enthusiasm, passion, curiosity, eagerness and hunger to learn in the individuals as well as ready to take responsibility with proactive behaviour. He congratulated the college on organizing an event of such stature and wished the fest great success.

Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, director of SJEC, Fr Kenneth R Crasta, assistant director, Dr Rio D’Souza, principal, Dr Purushothama Chippar, vice principal and Rakesh Lobo, HR manager of the college were present at the inaugural along with the staff conveners of the fest, Roopesh M and Chaitra U R. The student conveners of the event, Vinol A D’Souza and Alva Shwetha Shivaprasad were also present on the occasion.

The three-day fest will witness participation of students from across the region in a series of technical, non-technical as well as cultural events displaying their skills and competencies. Apart from the techno-cultural events, the major attractions of the fest include the Spin the Disc scheduled on the first day, the cultural programme and the award ceremony on the third day followed by Heritage Haute - DJ Night by the popular DJ Aerreo. The major sponsors of the event are MARIAN Constructions, KASHARP, PRAKRUTI Products Pvt Ltd, NIDHI LAND Infrastructure Developers India P Ltd. and ATHER.
