Bengaluru, May 8: JDS leader H D Kumaraswamy leveled a startling allegation that “12 supposed rape victim women” are hidden in Kumarakrupa Guest House and questioned the credibility of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by senior IPS office B K Singh besides demanding to know the whereabouts of the car driver Karthik, who had spread the videos of the sex abuse incidents by Hassan JDS MP Prajwal Revanna.
Speaking to media persons on Wednesday near the Magistrate’s Court in the city, which he had attended in connection with an old case, Kumaraswamy taunted the Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar by asking him if he has “backbone” and also questioned the credibility of SIT officials.
In a hard-hitting response to Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar for terming him (HDK) as the “Black Mailer King,” the JDS leader spoke in singular terms and charged that the KPCC Chief had “used the entire sex scandal” involving Prajwal Revanna for “selfish political motives.”
Kumaraswamy charged that the culprits, who had widely circulated the pen drives containing video recordings of Prajwal Revanna’s sex exploits in the streets, were “being protected by the Congress government.”
‘Everybody knows culture of DKS’
“Everybody knows the culture of D K Shivakumar,” he said asking: “Why did you (DKS) speak with advocate Devarajegoda. What is your work with Devarajegowda?”
The JDS leader said the woman, who had lodged the complaint his brother H D Revanna and led to his being held in judicial custody, was found in her relative Pavithra’s house in Hunsur and not in the farm house of H D Revanna’s close associate Rajagopal as claimed the police.
Kumaraswamy demanded to know “how and why the 12 supposed rape victim women are being hidden in Kumarakrupa Guest House.”
The JDS leader said D K Shivakumar “had damaged the reputation of the victims by showing their faces” by leaking the pen drives containing the video recordings. “Are you (DKS) not ashamed?” he asked.
‘Fighting for HD Revanna, no change on Prajwal’
However, Kumaraswamy sought to distance himself from the rape exploits of Prajwal Revanna and declared : “I am fighting for my brother (HD Revanna) because he is our party MLA and my own brother. I am fighting for H D Revanna as the leader of the JDS legislature party.”
“There is no change in my position with respect to the charges against Prajwal Revanna,” he said and made it clear it for the SIT to probe and establish the incidents and punish the culprits.
The JDS alleged the car driver Karthik, who is responsible for spreading the pen drives containing the video recordings of the rape episodes, is being “tutored by a private TV channel” and this indicates the direction in which the SIT probe is going on.
“How this car driver Karthik, who could not be traced by the SIT so far, is being tutored in the private TV channel?” he asked and claimed that “Karthik is hiding in Girinagar in Bengaluru.”
Kumaraswamy said the car driver Karthik, who had worked with H D Revanna and is known to Prajwal Revanna, was “fully aware of the happenings. He is being protected by DK Shivakumar,” he said terming the latter as “bande” for the alleged quarrying by him.
He asked the Home Minister to explain why the Congress party’s Hassan candidate Shreyas Patel, Naveen Gowda and Karthik have not been summoned by the SIT and demanded to know if the SIT is unaware of their activities.
Kumaraswamy alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had tried to get him arrested by using a police officer Kempaiah. “Their plan to get me arrested and send me to jail at least for a day,” he alleged.
