Beltangady: Newlywed struck by lightning, succumbs to injuries

Beltangady, May 4: A tragic incident unfolded this evening in Subrahmanya of Kadaba taluk, where a young man, who had recently tied the knot just 10 days ago, was struck by lightning.

As evening approached, a thunderstorm accompanied by rain clouds loomed over the area.

Somasunder, engaged in piling up dried nuts in the yard to shield them from the impending rain, fell victim to a lightning strike.

Despite being rushed to Kadaba Community Hospital after falling ill, he tragically succumbed to his injuries. Somasunder, who ran a car washing business near Subrahmanya, is survived by his mother, sister, and wife.
