Udupi: No changes should be made in Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act - MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (TP)

Udupi, Jun 5: MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary said that no changes should be made to Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act which has been in force for many years.

Addressing newspersons here on Monday, June 5, he said, “When Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was ruling, it brought the Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act in both the houses in support of famers and to protect cows. This has become the law as Hindus worship the cows and it is necessary to protect them. When we are ought to protect cows, the quality of milk, breed and disease, instead the word is spreading that we will kill cows.”

Kota Poojary urged the chief minister Siddaramaiah and other ministers to understand the feelings of people. He said, “People have voted for you and you have got elected as chief minister. But, that does not mean that you have all powers and do as you wish. If you bring amendments changes to the Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act, members of the BJP will strictly oppose this and will fight against any move.”

Replying to minister MB Patil’s comments on Chakravarty Sulibele, Kota Srinivas Poojary said, “Before making any statement, Patil should understand the meaning of Sulibele’s statement, intention and patriotism. He is not a terrorist. The way M B Patil said that we will arrest Sulibele portrayed the latter as a terrorist. I request to check your words because Sulibele joins in the list of nationalists. If you make such utterances against such people like Sulibele, we members of the BJP will stand in support of him.”

Commenting on the ongoing women wrestlers' protests in Delhi, Kota Srinivas Poojary said, “The central government is checking the reason behind the protest by women wrestlers. As you all know, the Central government gave a statement related to the same on Sunday. We will solve the issue at the opportune time. We will check whether they are getting funds from outside countries as well.”

You passed a one sided bill, ignoring all opposition concerns and without proper debate. You passed a bill simply to make a political point. We are a democracy and you cannot impose restrictions on what people eat, dress or worship. You worship your cow and nobody has any problems with that, but my cow is mine and you have no business with it. If I steal your cow, then it is a crime and I should be punished for that crime. By your silly law you are completely destroying cow breeding in the country. A neighbourhood butcher was known as the farmers best friend because at the end of its productive life a farmer would sell his cow to the butcher and with that money, he would buy a new calf. However now with all the restrictions, the farmer is no longer willing to buy and rear calves and opting for buffaloes instead. Secondly your artificial love for cows has left thousands of old cows abandoned on the streets without fodder, eating plastic and other rubbish, suffering and dying from pain and horrific accidents. Middle men are swallowing all funds meant for cow shelters across all BJP ruled states and the cows are left without fodder and die starving. This is what your silly law has done.

What right he has to demand any regulations or continuation of restrictions from massive majority govt.? People have rejected BJP'S policies by reducing them to less than half mark. BJP should clarify it's stance of Mummy in some states and Yummy in other states first. There should be uniform policies in all states as One Nation One Policy should be the Norm, if they can't then that's discrimination of some and appeasement of others.

Dear All Meat eaters of the twin districts: KINDLY THINK OF THERE IS ONLY ONE SLAUGHTER HOUSE IN MANGALORE FOR THE TWIN DISTRICTS (I AM NOT SURE UDUPI HAS A SLAUGHTER HOUSE) AND PEOPLE HAVE TO MANAGE MEAT EATERS OF BOTH THE TWIN DISTRICT FROM ONE SLAUGHTER HOUSE AT MANGALORE. This is really a grave concern, unfair and illegal on the part of the meat eaters who consider slaughtering and consuming it's meat is not a sin. Presently, the people’s friendly congress government is functioning in Karnataka. Both the twin districts people should put forward meat eaters demand to implement more slaughter houses, one each slaughter house in each taluks. The Graam Panchayat, taluk members the municipality members should be persuaded to pass the agenda of cow slaughter houses in the taluks and in the municipalities. THIS IS MOST IMMINENT, THE RISING PRICES AND INFLATION ALSO CAN BE CONTAINED TO A GREAT EXTENT. CATTLE MEAT EATERS SHOULD COME PUBLICLY AND PRESS SUCH DEMAND WITH THE DISTRICT COLLECTOR AND THE TALUKS TAHASILDARS TO IMPLIMENT/TO ALLOW MORE COW SLAUGHTER HOUSES. WE HAVE NO OBJECTION IN THOSE WHO WORSHIP CATTLE AND THOSE ABSTAIN FROM SLAUGHTERING AND EATING ITS MEAT. AT THE SAME TIME DON'T FORCE US, NOT TO SLAUGHTER OR NOT TO EAT ITS MEAT. WE OBEY THE LAWS OF THE LAND WITHOUT FAIL.

Poojary, you may worship anything and it's your wish BUT don't enforce on others!!! Millions of cows have been malnourished since slaughter ban and your own HINDU BJP MEN EXPORTS COW MEAT??? DON'T you think double standards??? Cow meat is affordable for Millions of people including Hindus!!! if you don't eat forget but you can't stop slaughter now during Congress rule!!! Kerala cow meat is not banned!!! Bengaluru many hotels serve dog meat too!!! Hindu men and women in queue at the restaurant to eat!!! Change your mindset and everything will be sorted out. COW is a ANIMAL and urine, cow dung also used for purification by Hindu men and women of higher mind set people. Poor Hindus have been misguided!!!

Nobody is stopping you from worshipping the cows and eating its shit and drinking its urine. But don’t stop other people from eating beef who they don’t consider cow as god and don’t force them to eat its shit and drink urine. Why some of your BJP ruled states not imposed beef ban and why your agencies slaughtering cows and exporting its meat????.?. Your own people eat beef and relish on it. After beef ban is lifted in Karnataka by the new congress govt all food prices and meat prices have come down for benefit of people but it’s a very burning and threatening issue to you when people are relieved of thier pain.

I think BJP is not too much interested in so called protection of cows Otherwise they would have implemented this rule in Goa and NE states. This is only political game If they are serious about cow protection then let them start farms with some breeds of cattle which are only meant for meat. Not the milk yielding variety. Like how we have broiler chickens Problem solved. .
