Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, Mar 24: The state government has decided to do away with the 4% reservation for Muslims under 'backward classes’ 2B category.

Addressing press persons at Vidhana Soudha after the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that there will be no reservation under the 2B for the minority community.

“Andhra Pradesh has cancelled it. However it has been decided to shift them to EWS to prevent injustice," he said.

"Vokkaligas will be provided 6% reservation under 2C category and Lingayats will be provided a reservation of 7% reservation under 2D category,” the chief minister clarified.
