Udupi: Man conned of Rs 33,998 on pretext of gift in online fraud

Udupi, Jan 30: A man was conned by an unknown caller on the pretext of winning a gift of electronics.

Some unknown person called Sadiccha Paresh Kamath and said that he got an electronic gift item as a prize and asked Kamath to send money to get the gift.

The caller provided his bank account number and asked to transfer money to the mentioned account. Kamath believed the caller and transferred Rs 33,998. He neither got the gift nor while calling the mobile of the caller went on switched off mode.

A case in this connection is registered in the CEN crime police station of the city.

    Cheating is not limited to any religion or caste... Anyone who cheats seizes to be follower of any religion... What is that electronics item worth more than 33,000 rupees?... Mr. Kamath did not even wink before taking pain to register the conman and transfer!!!... Surprising to see such brain washing on a seemingly highly doubtful approach over phone...
