Oct 6: Dakshina Kannada reports three Covid cases, five infections in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 6: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, October 6, reported three new coronavirus cases while five cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,069, out of which 34 are currently active. As many as 7 patients were discharged on October 6.

No deaths were reported on October 6. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.25 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Five coronavirus cases were reported on October 6. The total active Covid cases are 17.

A total of 10,90,757 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,424 have received both doses and 2,92,284 people have received booster doses.

Udupi taluk reported three cases while two infections were from Kundapur.All five cases reported were symptomatic.
