Wonder has Come Down to Make Us Wonderful

Christmas is a season. It is more than just lights, carols, sweets, and celebrations; at its center lies a Wonder. The real message of Christmas is not only that a child was born in Bethlehem, but also that God came down to us. He does not come only to be worshiped; He comes to change us—to make us wonderful. 

Jesus: The Wonder Who Came Down

Jesus is a wonder because: in Jesus, the Infinite becomes finite, God enters the human timeline, but in the form of an extremely vulnerable baby, the Almighty chooses to be humble. Being born in a manger instead of a royal palace reveals a God who is powerful and great, yet He is with His people and shares their lives. The distant becomes close. In the words of the Gospel of John, “The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14).

Through Jesus, God says to the people of the earth: I am not distant. I am in your poverty, your fragility, your everyday life. The magic of Christmas is not a display; it is a being. 

From Wonder to be Wonderful: The Transformation Within Us

Jesus does not come to just be worshipped in a manger; he comes to the human heart in a new way. The real miracle of Christmas is what we experience when we give this Wonder a chance in our lives. 

Jesus makes us wonderful by:

Giving us back our honour when we think we are down or unworthy medicating our hidden hurts with absolution and compassion. Taking us out of the realm of fear, shame, and hopelessness. Training us to love, not in a limited way, but in abundance. We do not become wonderful through success, authority, or flawlessness. We become magnificent by being more human, more understanding, more loving—like Him. St. Irenaeus, an early Church Father, put it very beautifully: "The glory of God is the human person fully alive."

Making Others Wonderful: Letting Christmas Continue

Christmas does not end with the Nativity scene. It lasts where love of Christ is shown. People who have the experience of the Wonder of Jesus are to be the ones of his Wonder for others. 

When do we make others wonderful?

When we first acknowledge the presence of the invisible ones. When we give a listening ear to the people whose opinions do not count. When we pardon instead of allowing resentment to grow. When we encourage where there is discouragement. We spread peace in our neighborhood, school, and workplace. Every kind word, every act of patience, every gesture of compassion allows the light of Christmas to shine again in a broken world.

A Christmas Invitation

This Christmas, we are invited not only to celebrate the birth of Jesus but to welcome the Wonder into our daily lives.  When Wonder comes down: Hearts are healed, Lives are renewed, Ordinary people become extraordinary channels of grace.

May this season of Christmas bring to our minds the fact that God literally came down to bless us with His presence, so that through us the world could be a bit more hopeful, a bit more human, and a bit more divine.  

Have a Wonderful Christmas — the time when Wonder comes down, and love changes everything.

  • In case of a short story / article, the write-up should be at least one-and-a-half pages in word document in Times New Roman font 12 (or, about 700-800 words). Contributors are requested to keep their write-ups limited to a maximum of four pages. Longer write-ups may be sent in parts to publish in installments. Each installment should be sent within a week of the previous installment. A single poem sent for publication should be at least 3/4th of a page in length. Multiple short poems may be submitted for single publication.
  • All submissions should be in Microsoft Word format or text file. Pictures should not be larger than 1000 pixels in width, and of good resolution. Pictures should be attached separately in the mail and may be numbered if the author wants them to be placed in order.
  • Submission of the article / poem / short story does not automatically entail that it would be published. Daijiworld editors will examine each submission and decide on its acceptance/rejection purely based on merit.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to edit the submission if necessary for grammar and spelling, without compromising on the author's tone and message.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to reject submissions without prior notice. Mails/calls on the status of the submission will not be entertained. Contributors are requested to be patient.
  • The article / poem / short story should not be targeted directly or indirectly at any individual/group/community. Daijiworld will not assume responsibility for factual errors in the submission.
  • Once accepted, the article / poem / short story will be published as and when we have space. Publication may take up to four weeks from the date of submission of the write-up, depending on the number of submissions we receive. No author will be published twice in succession or twice within a fortnight.
  • Time-bound articles (example, on Mother's Day) should be sent at least a week in advance. Please specify the occasion as well as the date on which you would like it published while sending the write-up.

    Thank you father for the wonderful writings.We see whole world celebrate christmas .Except few others .A celebration makes people come together ,and praise Lord .This feast shows how humble Lord was to be born in manger,later die on cross .Let us too be simple and normal without hating and killing others ,help others.Have the happiness of this xmas giving the message of love to the world ,let pray to stop wars between other countries and bring Peace to all .We see now how countries are fighting to get more land ,more richness ,weapons and others are fighting to live with hunger ,chill and no homes.Let us thank God for giving us homes clothes water and fresh air and food.Hope new year brings peace world wanted and pray for it.Many are being drown out of homes have to live open air and women are facing most of it as misused.Have happy xmas and happy new year.
