War Between Me and My Soul

October 28, 2025

War Between Me and My Soul
Today, I saw a tiny creature of God
Near the slum;
It took away my sleep.
I wonder, how can parents be so cruel?

The shimmering eyes of the baby
Kept running through my mind.
The cry of the baby
Was walking through my veins.
I could not sleep that night
It was a war for my sleep.

The baby was very tiny,
As small as a mustard seed;
Its limbs were as soft as rose petals.
I tried to sleep for the second time,
But I failed in the second war too.
It was the war between me and my soul.

I heard someone knocking at the door;
I opened it gently—
It was Mother Wind, who came to calm me.
The gentle Mother Wind kissed my forehead;
I opened the window,
And the Rain God wiped my tears with his own.

But the war for my peaceful sleep did not end.
