Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru whose birth anniversary is celebrated as Children’s Day on 14th November across India had beautifully said, “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.” This quote beautifully highlights the important responsibility we have towards our children as the future of our country depends on how we groom, nurture and equip them for the future. Jawaharlal Nehru was a statesman of a great stature yet he stooped down and mingled with children because he had realized the importance of giving them time and promoting their welfare. He was greatly admired for his concern towards children that they grow up with proper education, dignity and respect. He was popularly known and fondly called as “Chacha Nehru”.

Children are precious jewels and they need to be looked after with great care and wisdom. It is very important to nurture them as holistic individuals with physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs. If today our children are looked after well then India of tomorrow will have robust citizen leaders. Franklin D Roosevelt, 32nd President of the United States had aptly said, “We may not be able to prepare the future for our children, but we can at least prepare our children for the future.” As adults, parents and teachers, we have an onerous responsibility upon our shoulders of making our children the living messages for the future we will not witness. We need to Love, Care and Nurture Children’s holistic development, Inculcate 21st Century Skills through quality education, Support their interests and help them realize their potential, Teach them values with your own life example, Provide them safe environment to live in to enjoy their childhood andAbove all give them time and listen to them.

Education is one of the pillars of sustainable development. Only through education can children realize their fullest potential. The government has been making substantial efforts to enhance education and the New Education Policy sheds light on the paradigm shift in the education sector that will endeavour to provide opportunities for children in diverse fields. There are 472 million children in India under the age of 18 years, representing 39% of the country’s total population. Being blessed with the largest youth population, through education and health care India has all the potential to be among the leading nations of the world.

Children have all the potential to change the world. On their part the first thing they need to do is to cherish the gift of life God has given and be focused on values and their ultimate goal in life. In the face of challenges, they need to march forward with confidence to emerge victorious citizens of our country, India. “Children, you are fortunate to have innumerable opportunities at your disposal, make the best of it and do not take things for granted because many children are not as fortunate as you are. Be sensitive towards the less privileged children. Remember that you are unique and precious and loved.”

Today while we organize various cultural programmes and host colorful celebrations, let us also pledge to make our children’s childhood safe, enjoyable and a memorable phase of their lives. Let us value, love and nurture them so that our children will make India vibrant and robust country in the world.

  • In case of a short story / article, the write-up should be at least one-and-a-half pages in word document in Times New Roman font 12 (or, about 700-800 words). Contributors are requested to keep their write-ups limited to a maximum of four pages. Longer write-ups may be sent in parts to publish in installments. Each installment should be sent within a week of the previous installment. A single poem sent for publication should be at least 3/4th of a page in length. Multiple short poems may be submitted for single publication.
  • All submissions should be in Microsoft Word format or text file. Pictures should not be larger than 1000 pixels in width, and of good resolution. Pictures should be attached separately in the mail and may be numbered if the author wants them to be placed in order.
  • Submission of the article / poem / short story does not automatically entail that it would be published. Daijiworld editors will examine each submission and decide on its acceptance/rejection purely based on merit.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to edit the submission if necessary for grammar and spelling, without compromising on the author's tone and message.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to reject submissions without prior notice. Mails/calls on the status of the submission will not be entertained. Contributors are requested to be patient.
  • The article / poem / short story should not be targeted directly or indirectly at any individual/group/community. Daijiworld will not assume responsibility for factual errors in the submission.
  • Once accepted, the article / poem / short story will be published as and when we have space. Publication may take up to four weeks from the date of submission of the write-up, depending on the number of submissions we receive. No author will be published twice in succession or twice within a fortnight.
  • Time-bound articles (example, on Mother's Day) should be sent at least a week in advance. Please specify the occasion as well as the date on which you would like it published while sending the write-up.

    Yes children of today will be tomorrows citizens and proud Politikers.Make India great.Learn good and lift up problems of India .Who knows one of you will be proud President or a Prime minister .or why not a Head of Aeronautical inst.go on moon´?Chances are not bad.Important is you should be a good citizens whatever you want to be.Thats most important.Build our Nation .Onething you have shouldnt forget .Poor people have less chance to get meicine .Try to lift up this and give more chances to make poor better treatment instead of present people .Better chances to get education for poor children today is important than ever.Govt schools are on the fall.Then is the dream of chacha Nehru will come true.

    Sadly the less educated political leadership choose to erase highly intelligent & educated Chacha Nehru's legacy and visionary contribution to Education, which in fact empowered and enabled Hindustani's are most sought after for employment in Medicine, Engineering, Finance & Legal services..., that being said the present generation is getting mentored to embrace cow economics, intolerance & hatredness. Time for Hindu parents to teach the noble tenets of REAL Hinduism to their children for a better tomorrow.
