At 19 couples are usually not very serious about taking such a bold step to tie the wedding knot in life.
If they had realized the pros and cons and the responsibilities of making a family from scratch they would have waited for some more years and with the blessings of the parents of both sides, things could have been settled for good. Getting married and making kids is not a simple playtime. They acted silly and took a drastic but silly step to end their lives.
@ that age Kuch kuch hota hai for sure.

    Both are 19 yrs .
    Madness .
No1)Parents of both parties should sit & understand thier kids .
That they need to study. stand on thier feet & then they will think when they could make them settle .
Should be a bit diplomatic when speaking to kids
Not straight start refusing. Shouting beating start fighting with opposite Families

    This doesnt know work.now a days .
2 ) kids also should understand thier age , Should be friendly listen to thier advices , not just take final.conculsion.
However saying I inow its very difficult to make kids understand.
I dont feel pity for this lovers because they have not understood life nor thier parents

In similar situation, I have come across two instances where the young lovers have told their parents that they would commit suicide, if not allowed to marry. This trick has helped in those cases. It may not work with parents who are more worried about the family honor than the children.

As far as possible, children should try to develop friendship with people who may be welcome to their family. Since, the God of love, pierces his arrow in different directions, it is not generally possible.

Parents should see whether the young couple are okay in all respects as age, education and such relevant matters and not religion and caste. As far as I am concerned, I told my son if he marries a girl from any religion or even from a koraga community, I would accept her and adjust myself. But, I would be cautious in the case of my daughters, not because of religion, but because they would not be treated rightly by boy's family. But, all my 3 children have married to Catholics.

This is primarily due to our social, caste, linguistic structure, which results in such horrible tragedies !!! We also have the ugly practice of honour killings, prevailing in some states, for inter caste and religious mixed marriages !! Rest in eternal peace !!!

This could be averted if parents convinced young lovers or let them leave as their wish, supporting them morally or financially. After all, we all are human beings. Pyar tho andha hota hai.....

Many Indian parents dont understand yet. They want their children to be what the parents want. And this is precisely why a lot of children are robbed if good career opportunities or like in this case lead a life the kids want. Stop this dictator style upbringing and change ourselves to adapt to the new generation. We cant dictate our generation terms to the current generation. And when that happens by force, that is when there rebellion or surrender to death.
