Yogi to rename Agra's Mughal museum after Chhatrapati Shivaji

Lucknow, Sep 14 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday announced to name the under-construction Mughal museum in Agra after Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

He made it clear that his government has always nurtured the nationalist ideology and anything which smacks of subservient mentality will be done away with.

"How can our heroes be Mughals," the Chief Minister said as he pointed out that the very name of Shivaji will invoke a feeling of nationalism and self-esteem in people.

The move assumes significance in view of the tussle between the BJP and the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra and efforts to link it with Maratha pride.

The Chief Minister directed to complete the remaining work in the Agra Smart City Project and asserted that this project is among the priorities of his government and should be taken up with the same urgency.

Adityanath said he was happy over Agra getting second-ranking at the national level and first among other Smart Cities in Uttar Pradesh in a recent ranking survey.

He also asked to expedite the Metro and Airport projects of Agra and said that no project should suffer due to want of money and he would personally speak to the Centre if any requirement of money arises.

The Chief Minister said that the AMRUT and JNNURM schemes should also be given impetus.

Adityanath was apprised that out of a total of 19 works under the Agra Smart City project, four have been completed while 15 are in progress. The timeline of every work is prepared and all these works will be completed by August 2021.

The site must write chhatarapati Shivaji Maharaj, they have only written chhatarapati Shivaji, must write fully. Mughals were not the pride, Hindu Indian kings are pride. Although yogi has named chhatarapati Shivaji Maharaj to the museum, not chhatarapati Shivaji, it is chhatarapati Shivaji Maharaj.

What our government is doing ? They cannot even repatriate the convicts back to the country. Forget about recovering the stolen wealth.

How that will wipe out history of India. Can we go back in times? History was made and cannot be replaced by modern technology or thoughts or by any discipline.

Moghuls may not be our heroes.
But, their contribution for the development of India shouldn't be ignored.
The GDP of India at the time of Moghul era was 22% of the world economy.
Now it is minus - 23.5% which is really worst than British era.

This fellow Ahmed is still living in Taj Mahal!
The moghuls did nothing other than demolition of Indian architecture, conversion and looting the rich resources.
What a joke of comparing ancient GDP to pandemic GDP!
By the way today 2.50% of the Indians pay Income tax but 97.50% blabber/complain about GDP!!!

    @Mr. Mario,
FYI: Income tax isn't only tax in India. GST is also a heavy tax in our country which is paid by 100% people. Nothing is given free.

These are methods of diverting the mind of the people from field of failure of Government. The dead people have nothing to do with any changes. But attention is needed to living people who suffer due to pandemic. Leave hate and devlop love. All circumstances yogi or swamiji above all religions

The museum will focus on Mughal culture, artefacts, paintings, cuisine, costumes, Mughal era-arms and ammunition and performing arts.

Why are you displaying Mughal Era items in the museum?

Yogi Adityanath (Ajay Mohan Bisht ) became yogi for worldly pleasures. It was easy to change his name and that's the only achievement he has.

Ghori and Gajni invaded India, looted and went back. If the resistance from Indian Kings were not there, they too would have settled here. The next wave of Babar, Humayun and Akbar were able to conquer the Kings and later when they saw the climate, wealth and richness of India along with tough conditions back in Persia, they decided to settle here.
Nonetheless they are invaders and need not be glorified. It is very appropriate from the part of Yogiji to wipe out the Mughal name.

History says Indian king himself invited Md Ghori to help him to defeat his son-in-law ruling at Delhi and he did it.
