Dammam: 13th MASA Talents Day - A fabulous success

Dammam, Sep 19: Embodiment of talent, twittering melodies ringing the ears, proliferation of enjoyment all bundled into a showcase of endowment was witnessed on September 13 at the Crystal Hall, Dammam when MASA (Mangalore Association Saudi Arabia) held their annual 13th Talents Day. Young and old enthusiastically participated in various activities such as dance, fancy dress and singing.

There were more than 50 contestants from different age groups who shared the stage with their colorful performances to entertain the large holiday crowd. Many children trained by professional choreographers back home during their summer holidays, exhibited their talents to near perfection. The judges truly had difficulty in selecting the best.

The lively event kickstarted in grand style, led by president Naveen Bhandary and the EXCOM members together lighting the ceremonial lamp. Entertainment committee head Viraj Kumar Shetty welcomed the members and guests. President Naveen Bhandary while addressing the gathering thanked all the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment in exhibiting their talents. He appreciated the parents for encouraging their children to keep the spirit of talents day alive. Chief judge Sadashiv Poojary briefed the contest rules during his welcome address and introduction of judges.



MASA committee, volunteers and participants ensured that the event was well organized and entertaining to the viewers. Judges were introduced by Ravi Karkera and Viraj Shetty.

MASA yet again organized a grand display of sheer talent among their community. The aim of MASA is noble cause and they have scrupulously given a plethora of opportunity to many budding stars to demonstrate their talents in different ways.

Singing melodious songs from yester years to the latest hot numbers ringing on the charts, participants rocked the stage with their rocking performances. Dancing to the tunes, contestants also enthralled the crowd with compassion. A superb show by Kudla Adventures on the concept of old TV shows in the Fancy Dress category was worth watching. Special attraction was amazing dance show by national and international level star performer, Vineth Mishal. MASA is proud for his success as Vineth started his dancing talent from MASA platform during his childhood days.

Youth leaders of MASA anchored the event under the guidance of Sumithra Kadekar, Rekha Shetty, Chetana Poojary, Archana Shetty led by Shakib Ahmed. Youth leaders anchored the show: Divya Karkera, Bhavya Pradeep, Shreya Bajal, Shravya Poojary, Abdul Nooman Bashir and Shreya Arun Bangera.

Sound, timings and tally counters were managed by Mohammed Nooman, Rajesh Thingalaya, Bhaskar Kanchan, Sunman Karkera, Rahul Salvi and Jessica Sunman Karkera.

During the event, as a part of MASA’s tradition, parents of Prita Arun Bangera were welcomed to the stage and felicitated with bouquet of flowers and shawls.

Guests Prasad and Dr Mansour, president and vice president respectively of Indian overseas forum Dammam were honored with bouquet of flower.

Winners were awarded with attractive trophies. Participants under 18 years were presented with medals. Award ceremony was conducted by Sadashiv Poojary, Narendra Shetty, Viraj Shetty and Nayaz Kaiser.

Six attractive instant Raffle prizes were drawn and presented to lucky winners. Victor Sequiera, Naveen Bhandary and Ravi Karkera played a lead role in announcing the Instant Raffle Draw. Puttaraju and Arun D’Souza with the help of young children succeeded in selling large number of raffle tickets. All children were invited on the stage and appreciated for their efforts.

Advisory committee member Ravi Karkera appreciated the great efforts put in by the Entertainment Committee head Viraj Shetty and Viraj Shetty in return thanked all the volunteers and committee members for their great efforts in displaying a grand show of talents day competition. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to EXCOM & Advisory Committee members for the guidance and support in running the show diligently.

Vote of thanks was presented by general secretary Gopal Krishna Shetty. The spectacular show was concluded by singing of National Anthem.
