Mumbai, Apr 21:
India Voting started its awareness campaign to promote voting. Mumbai north-central Lok Sabha Congress candidate Priya Dutt was the first person in Maharashtra to cast her symbolic vote for the campaign. She cast her symbolic vote at suburban Bandra here on Tuesday April 21 morning.

‘We had chosen Priya as she is an icon for the new generation. She is the ideal representative for youth power and has ably served the city and the people for the past three and half years as a MP,’ said Amit Tripathi of India Voting.

The NGO will run its mobile vans across the city and speak to youngsters and other citizens, urging them to cast their votes. They plan to touch a million voters in the next 10 days till the general elections.

The vans will carry an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) with a ticker which counts the number of people who cast their symbolic vote.

Priya's message to the voters was, ‘Voting is your Right...You need to elect the right person to represent you over the next five years...Please do come out and vote.’
