Mangaluru, Feb 15: MLA J R Lobo distributed title deeds to 400 families residing in Padil, Kankanady, Jeppinamogaru, Valencia, Shakthinagar and Bajal for their houses and sites under section 94 (cc) of the land revenue act 1964 on Thursday, February 15 at St Sebestian Hall Bendorwell.

Addressing the gathering, MLA J R Lobo said, “Today 400 title deeds have been distributed and this work is very important because this wipes the tears of the poor. Last time during my election campaign people of Bengre had demanded to provide title deeds as they could not obtain any government facilities and on February 10th, total of 1,138 families were handed over the title deeds at Bengre and still few more title deeds have to be given on February 17 to them. Siddaramaiah government has changed the law relating to the title deeds and I thank revenue minister Kaagodu Thimappa for making this successful and this was not possible without joining hands of revenue officials and village accountant.”

“We have already received 4000 applications out of which 1000 flats have been allotted at Shakthinagar which is in process. I have dream to construct 2000 more houses to the poor and I will fulfil my dreams,” he added.

Mangaluru city corporation member A C Vinayaraj, TK Sudhir, Deputy Mayor Rajaneesh, Vishwas Das, Pradeep Bekal, Tahsildar Guru Prasad, Corporator Praveen Alva and others were present.

These 400 families who now have a valid document with their property deeds will always remain grateful to you, Mr. J. R. Lobo. Owning a property is like owning a Temple that you worship every day of your life and keep the family united together.

So long as these families and their next generation remain united, the newly acquired properties in their name will remain as a valuable gift for a humble family.

This is a nice gesture, and we too remain grateful to you for your untiring efforts towards the needy and deserving families.
