Islamabad, Sep 3: In a spate of violent incidents, at least 22 people lost their lives in Pakistan on Tuesday, following separate attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

The deadliest strike occurred in Quetta, where a suspected suicide bomber targeted a political rally of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M). The explosion, which took place in the parking area soon after the event concluded, left 11 people dead and around 30 others injured. Senior BNP-M leader Sajid Tareen confirmed that several party members were among the wounded. Government official Hamza Shafat stated that preliminary findings indicated a bomb had been planted in the parking zone.

Earlier in the day, six Pakistani soldiers were killed when armed militants attacked the headquarters of the Federal Constabulary in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A faction linked to Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) later claimed responsibility for the assault.

In another attack along the border with Iran in Balochistan, five individuals were gunned down. However, no group has so far claimed responsibility for this incident.

Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province by area and rich in natural resources, has long witnessed unrest, separatist activities, and sporadic militant strikes. Authorities have heightened security in the aftermath of Tuesday’s violence.
